The Dark Portal

The Dark Portal

Smoke billowed out the portal open wide
A lost child at the threshold dark stood
Too weak with fright to venture inside
She knew inevitably, she must, she should
Contemplating the darkness in despair
When beyond the unknown a hand was thrust
Then distress of terror to comfort was turned
She reached for her Father completely with trust
In His love, protection, and guidance
She mustered the strength to adjust
She followed Him through the obscurity
No longer alone.  No never alone!
For wrapped in Divine Security
She began to understand and did smile ~
His outstretched hand was there all the while.
